The Essen-based media house energate is celebrating its 20th birthday this year.
To mark the occasion, energate is taking its readers on a journey through two decades of the energy industry, from the early years of market liberalisation to the change from fossil to renewable energies and the digitalisation of the energy world. From mid-February, the anniversary website www.energate20.de will feature a series of articles on special industry events of the last two decades as well as interviews with prominent personalities from the energy industry. Visitors can test their knowledge of the energy history with a quiz and discover the milestones of the market and energate history on an interactive timeline.
"Over the past two decades, energate has developed into an indispensable information tool for the energy industry. We are taking this success story as an opportunity to look back on an eventful time. At the same time, we continue to work on closely accompanying the changes in the industry and to continue to provide the energy world everywhere and precisely with relevant knowledge based on high-quality journalistic work," says energate Managing Director Marc Hüther.
Largest energy editorial office in the DACH region
Since the liberalisation of the energy market, energate's information and communication services have given energy professionals a decisive know-how edge - now also in Austria and Switzerland. With over 20 energy journalists based in Essen, Berlin, Brussels, Zurich and Vienna, the energate editorial team has developed into the largest energy editorial team in the German-speaking region. The journalistic work has constantly evolved: 20 years ago, the core topic was the procurement and distribution of electricity and gas; today, the spectrum of topics ranges from energy policy, mobility and hydrogen to the digitalisation of the energy world.
News archive as a knowledge pool
Customers also benefit from the long market presence through a constantly growing knowledge pool: with over 140,000 fully indexed reports, the energate news archive is unique in the DACH region. And with over a hundred successful content projects by the independent energate agency team, the Essen-based media house has also established an excellent market position in the field of B2B energy communication.
Must-read for specialists and executives in the energy world
The media house was founded in 2001 as a subsidiary of the consulting and service company conenergy, which specialises in the energy sector. "With energate's information services, we support our customers every day on their way to a sustainable future. In this way, we contribute to making the energy industry more customer-friendly, more efficient and simpler. Among professionals and managers in the industry, energate is a must-read," says conenergy CEO Roman Dudenhausen.
