On 20.09.2019, the Climate Cabinet adopted its Climate Protection Programme 2030 to implement the Climate Protection Plan 2050. It comprises measures from all sectors and fields of action. The building sector is expected to achieve an emission reduction of around 50 million tonnes of CO2 or around 40% in the next 10 years (by 2030). With the existing set of instruments this saving will not be possible. The Climate Protection Programme 2030 therefore includes a number of additional measures. Particularly spectacular for the heating market: a "scrappage programme for oil heating systems" - designed to facilitate the switch to renewable heat and hybrid (gas) heating systems with a renewable share. From 2026, the installation of new oil heating systems is even to be completely banned. The potential in Germany is gigantic with about 4.8 million oil boilers and most of the oil boilers are quite old. A multi-billion conversion business per year is on the horizon. Invitations to the oil scrapping party are currently being sent out to market participants - but unfortunately the municipal utilities are usually not (yet) involved. What do municipal utilities need for a successful customer approach during the oil scrapping party? How do you get past the doorman? In essence, four important questions need to be answered: • Do you know products? Competitive electricity or pellet-based contracting products for non-line supply as well as strong gas and district heating-based products with renewable shares are essential • Can you find quarters? Do you have any product ideas for neighbourhood networks that are effective in places where no grid-bound supply is possible? • Do you have the right strategy? Innovative heating market strategies and sales organisation as the basis for successful EDL sales are essential • Do you have access to fulfilment structures? It will not work without reliable market partners and craft capacities As a leading consultancy in the heating market and contracting, we can help you to take advantage of the impending market impulse.
