E-world 2026 Sees Growing International Participation and a Record Number of Exhibitors

04.02.2026

E world energy & water will take place at Messe Essen from February 10 to 12, 2026.

Next week, E-world energy & water kicks off. In its 25th edition, the leading trade fair for the energy industry will be larger and more international than ever before when it takes place from February 10 to 12, 2026, at Messe Essen: with a newly opened additional hall and a record number of exhibitors. Companies from 33 nations will be showcasing their solutions for the energy transition this year.

As the organizer of E-world, con|energy has been providing a central networking platform for the energy industry since 2001. Over the past 25 years, the trade fair has grown steadily and will continue to expand its position as the industry's leading international trade fair in 2026.

The increasing internationalization is reflected not only in the proportion of foreign exhibitors, but also in the growing number of international joint pavilions: for the first time, the Netherlands and Switzerland will be presenting themselves with their own pavilions, complemented by established joint stands from Japan and Sweden.

“E-world has become an international platform where people not only make contacts, they also share knowledge and best practices from all over Europe. With new international joint pavilions, various international delegations, and a stage program with a strong European focus, E-world 2026 underscores this importance,” said Stefanie Hamm, Managing Director of E world.

Opening Press Conference with con|energy-CEO Dr. Niels Ellwanger

This year, Dr. Niels Ellwanger will once again open E-world energy & water at the official kick-off press conference on February 10, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. He will be joined on the podium by Mona Neubaur (Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection, and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia), Kerstin Andreae (Chairwoman of the Executive Board of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries), Dr. Markus Krebber (CEO of RWE AG) and Ursula Heinen-Esser (President of the German Renewable Energy Federation).

Four Forums with a European Program: con|energy-CEO Dr. Roman Dudenhausen Moderates Panel Discussions

The international focus is also reflected in the supporting program: specialist presentations focusing on European energy markets and international best practices highlight the interconnected nature of the energy industry. More than half of the program will be held in English, with all other contributions interpreted.

con|energy-CEO Dr. Roman Dudenhausen will moderate a panel discussion on the topic “European Transmission Grids at Risk: How to Reinforce Resilience?” on the first day of the trade fair (February 10, 2026) from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The focus here is on the ongoing integration of renewable energies into the power grid and the associated increasing demands on the grids as critical infrastructure. In addition, the panel will examine the transformation of the power grids in the context of their convergence into a European power grid. The panel discussion will feature Maurice Dierick (RTE), Christoph Maurer (consentec), Dr. Christoph Müller (Amprion) and Stela Nenova (National Grid Ventures).

On February 11, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Dr. Roman Dudenhausen, together with Hanns Koenig (Aurora Energy Research), Ana Paula Marques (EDP) and Nikolaus Valerius (RWE Generation), will address the topic “Between Power Shortages and Stability: How Much Backup Does Europe’s Energy Future Need?” at the New Energy Systems Forum. This panel will focus in particular on the question of how rising electricity demand, driven by electrification, digitalization, and new industrial requirements, can be met in the future.
