Next Major Milestone for the Desert Power Project Sila Atlantik

The organizers want to bring large amounts of electricity to Germany. The federal government supports the plan, and now Morocco has also signaled its approval.

The Sila Atlantik project received a positive response from Leila Benali, Moroccan Minister for Energy Transition. In a letter to State Secretary for Economic Affairs Frank Wetzel, Benali emphasized that the Moroccan government welcomes the desert power project and that it is fully in line with the Morocco's strategic vision.


“With this, Sila Atlantik has reached another important milestone. The support of the Moroccan government is important for us,” emphasizes Roman Dudenhausen, CEO con|energy ag and Co-Founder & Shareholder Representative at Sila Atlantik.


For Germany, the project could open up an additional source of renewable electricity imports and thus help strengthen energy security.


On the German side, Sila Atlantik is receiving support not only from Federal Ministry of Economics. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephuhl is also supporting the project. Dr. Roman Dudenhausen, CEO con|energy ag, was part of the economic delegation that accompanied the Foreign Minister during his visit to Marocco in late April. Sila Atlantik was also a topic of discussion during that trip.


In addition, the project is supported by well-known companies such as E.ON, Uniper and Octopus Energy.
